At Mindroot, time is more than minutes — it’s memory, prevention, and care. Whether you’re volunteering, starting a conversation, or supporting our mission, every moment you give helps protect minds and preserve futures. Because change doesn’t always need money — sometimes, it just needs you.

Mindroot is a youth-led project confronting the realities of dementia with clarity, purpose, and defiance. We create awareness, challenge stigma, and stand up for those whose stories are fading. This isn’t charity — it’s personal.

Mindroot is a UK-based, youth-led initiative focused on dementia prevention. We run campaigns, educational workshops, creative events, and community outreach programmes that raise awareness about dementia and promote brain health, especially among young people. Our work is grounded in scientific research and driven by social purpose.
Currently, Mindroot operates as an unregistered not-for-profit initiative. All funds are managed transparently through a ring-fenced account, and 100% of donations go directly towards our core projects and partnerships. As we scale, we intend to formally register as a charitable organisation in the UK.
Your donation goes into one of two dedicated funds. The Fundraising Fund, which supports dementia prevention education, youth outreach, scientific research partnerships, and national prevention campaigns. The Event Fund, which supports in-person and virtual awareness events, including school workshops, creative exhibitions, and youth-led fundraising initiatives. Each fund has a clear, fixed allocation plan, and quarterly financial breakdowns are published on our website.
Donations are allocated based on predefined funding structures. For example, 45% of the Fundraising Fund supports prevention education, 30% supports scientific research, and 25% supports campaign delivery and infrastructure. These decisions are guided by our advisory team and based on current needs, impact data, and community feedback.
Yes. On our donation page, you can choose whether to contribute to the Fundraising Fund or the Event Fund. If you don’t specify, your donation will be split evenly across both funds unless there is an urgent priority.
Mindroot focuses on prevention and early intervention, not direct care. We believe more needs to be done upstream to reduce future cases of dementia. However, we collaborate with and promote the work of organisations that support people living with dementia, such as Dementia UK, Alzheimer’s Society, and local memory cafés.
Yes! We are always looking for passionate young people to join our team as Prevention Ambassadors, event volunteers, designers, workshop facilitators, or digital creators. Visit the Join Us page to apply or email us directly.
Yes. All donations are processed securely and stored in a ring-fenced account used solely for the designated fund. We do not share donor data and never use your funds for personal or unrelated expenses. A breakdown of spending is published quarterly.
Absolutely. Many of our donors give in memory of a loved one affected by dementia. You can include a note when donating, and if you wish, we can recognise this on our “Memory Circle” page with your permission.
You can email us at support@mindrootproject.org or use the contact form on our website. We aim to reply within 48 hours.
